IELTS Test in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi students who are interested in going abroad to study must attend the IELTS academic test. Whereas, those who are going abroad for work purposes or migrating to an English speaking country should attend the IELTS general training test. You can attend either of these two IELTS tests through British Council or IDP from Bangladesh. British Council or IDP have test centers all across the country where you can take both the paper based and computer based IELTS test.

IELTS Test Dates in Bangladesh

If you want to take your IELTS test through IDP, you may either book your IELTS test online or go to your nearest IDP branch to book the test offline. Generally, IDP has two or three available dates per week. You can choose a date that is most suitable for you. The Listening, Reading and Writing components of the test are always completed immediately after each other and with no break. However, depending on the test center, the Speaking test may be taken up to 7 days either before or after the test date.

You can follow the same procedure while booking a test through British council. Either book the test online or go to their office to book the test offline. British Council also has a wide range of available dates for both paper based and computer based tests. Similar to IDP, in British Council the Listening, Reading and Writing components of the test are always completed immediately after each other and with no break. However, your Speaking test may be offered on the same day as the other sections of the test, or up to a week before or two days after.

IELTS Test Fees in Bangladesh

The next thing to know before booking an IELTS test is the IELTS test fees in Bangladesh. Both the British Council and IDP have the same fees for various categories of IELTS test. If you book the test online you will have to pay the fees online via a credit card. However, if you book the test offline you can also pay in other ways.

IELTS Academic (paper based or computer based) - BDT 18,750

IELTS General Training (paper based or computer based) - BDT 18,750

IELTS Life Skills (A1 and B1) - BDT 16,200

IELTS for UKVI - BDT 21,100

However, an important thing to keep in mind that you must have your passport with you whether you are booking the test online or offline.

IELTS test locations are situated all over the country. While booking the test online or offline through both British Council and IDP, you can select a location that is closest to you.

IDP has IELTS test locations in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna and Sylhet.

Computer Delivered Test: These venues offer computer-delivered IELTS only. Listening, Reading and Writing tests are delivered on a computer. The Speaking test is delivered face-to-face with an examiner.
